- Our club is delighted to support the National Women’s Go Gliding Weekend, by holding a special event, specifically designed for this occasion, which will take place on Sunday 27th April 2025.
Due to huge demand, the day is now full, but we are
trying to arrange another day. Please let us know if you
are interested.
- The day will include a full introduction to gliding
as a sport, how learning to fly at BWND works, and you
will have a trial flight with one of our instructors.
Flights will be a 2000ft aerotow launch with up to 30
minutes of soaring over beautiful countryside. Time
permitting, there
will also be an opportunity to try a winch launch as an
additional flight for just £15.
- The format of the day will be:
09:15 – 10:00: Registration with Coffee & Refreshments
10:00 – 11:00: Introductory Presentation
11:00 – 12:00: Introduction to Instructors & Aircraft +
Flying brief
12:00 – 16:00: Flying!
16:00 – De-brief
- The charge for the day including the £20 deposit is
£90. Any additional winch launches on the
day will be £15. As part of the event, you will also get
1 month’s free membership so that you can come back to
fly at member rates.
